I ate wonderfully well (everything from Thai to Outback to Ma & Pa's diners, etc), learned a lot at the conference, got really sick of planes and layovers, read The Giver, and took some fun pictures.
We went to the Louisville Slugger Museum/Factory while we were there. They have some pretty impressive machinery (including a machine that makes all the MLB players bats...they have separate programs written for each player...this machine can make a bat in 16 seconds and makes them exactly the same - apparently if there is a difference in any of the bats it makes for the player it will be less than the thickness of two sheets of paper)
One really blinged out limo...
They have statues of the mayor of Louisville all over the city doing different things (sitting, standing, waving to people across the street, etc)

4th street live is at the heart of downtown Louisville. Our hotel was about 2 blocks from here so we came down often. They have live bands, tons of restaurants, comedians, homeless people, etc. all on this street.

Louisville is a great town. I'm glad you had a good time. I'm so sorry that we didn't make it down there to see you. Being a single dad of three kids this weekend made it pretty much impossible.

The night of Tanner's reception I layed in bed and was thinking about the how the reception had gone and I suddenly thought of you and Reed and Steve and was SO UPSET that I had forgotten to send 'my boys' an invite! I can't believe I forgot you - who have been such a great influence on Tanner through the years. I am SO SORRY!!!! We took our address list from Rachel's address list and you and the boys were on missions then, so you weren't on there. Please forgive me! I hope all is going well for you. I've been to Louisville before (back in '02, I think)! and I even have (well, used to have) the little slugger bat as a momento. AND I have a photo of me sitting on the same bench/sculpture of that guy. That's funny--I think I'm even looking at him the same way you are...
